APEX has design wizards and built-in processes to implement many common web idioms. Accompanying the book is a demo web application that illustrates each mentioned technique. Each page of the application is carefully constructed to illustrate one or more techniques, and provides a concrete example for every concept mentioned in the book. I’ve read and/or perused most of the available APEX 4.2 books; and appreciated their contribution to helping many of us (developers) discover new and exciting ways to leverage the power of APEX as a mature framework for developing real-world solutions.
However, this book is the most useful I have encountered to-date because the focus is on helping the reader understand, piece by piece, how APEX applications are constructed by the APEX engine—and the importance of developing fluency in customizing APEX “properties” as a way to effectively develop original solutions that are both functional and attractive.
This book is easy to follow, less on frills, and costs significantly less than its counterparts. That’s pleasantly surprising, knowing that the author is an established expert in database technologies.
I’m looking forward to the next edition of this book (due September 2015), which would be based on Oracle APEX 5, released in April 2015.

I can't tell you if you have never had programming experience this will be the book that teaches you how to code for the first time as for I have mad experience. Though I will tell you this book will teach you beginning Apex 4.2.

Great resource. Bargain for the price

Really a well done book with good quality pictures showing how to apply the theories. Other books cost 5 times as much for similar information.

I went to the local library to get a lighting guide. It was from early 2000s but already outdated. My hubby and I love LEDs and other efficient lighting solutions. We're both enginerds. This book is right up our alley. It shows us the art to lighting, as well as all the technical stuff. So glad I bought it!

greed got the best of him and landed him in this dark place ...

The Crimson Cowboy takes you on a journey through the eyes of a young man who had it "all", fame, fortune, National Championships both on the College and NFL level, countless numbers of friends both men and women. What more could anyone ask for right? Somehow along the way, greed got the best of him and landed him in this dark place called prison for almost 15 years. Many abandoned him but there were those who still remain true. I'm sure many can relate to some of the things Sherman has gone through but doesn't have the success story because they simply gave up. This book gives those men and women hope who has lost their way. It is very inspirational, uplifting and encouraging. Sherman gives us his raw honesty and he speaks directly to the heart. His story lets you know that through Christ, "All things are Possible," if one just keep the faith and believe. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone especially those who are struggling to find their way. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter of Sherman William's autobiography. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!

The cover promises what the book delivers!

As a long time friend of the family, I guess the five star rating may come as no surprise, BUT… not true! I have had several friends, colleagues, and former students attempt to write books. I have read them all. None were good reads. Ashamedly, I had relatively low expectations for yet another, even though I am fully aware of Sherman's intelligence and his incredible life story. Prior experience made me skeptical.
Man, was I wrong! This book is spellbinding, even though I already knew many of the people in the book and the story line quite well. The genius of the cover design promises a compelling read and the book does not disappoint. If you have a group of young people to inspire through the story of a young man who has "seen it all," then you need to get a "class set" of Crimson Cowboy.
